Removal and installation
The pulsator wheels are integral with the front CV joints or with the rear hubs as an assembly. If the pulsator requires replacement, a new joint or hub must be installed. Gears can be inspected for damaged teeth without removing them.
Air gap check
The air gap between the probe tip and the pulsator is very important for the correct operation of the system. The gap is determined by the correct installation of the speed sensor; it can be measured, but it cannot be regulated.
Use a non-metallic probe to measure. Rotate the hub slowly by hand and take several measurements in different positions. The gap should be within 0.4-1.0 mm. If it exceeds 1.0 mm in any position, there is a high probability of damage to the suspension knuckle.
Access to the Prelude's rear pulsator and gauge requires the removal of the wheel, caliper, and brake disc.
