2. Release the parking brake lever.
3. Remove the mounting bolt (A) from the brake hose bracket.
4. Remove the mounting bolts (B) from the caliper bracket and hang the caliper (C) on the side. To avoid damaging the caliper or brake hose, tie the caliper to the underbody with wire.
5. Loosen the brake disc mounting screw (A), screw two 8x1.25mm bolts into the brake disc/drum (B) and separate it from the hub. To avoid excessive tilting of the brake disc/drum, tighten the bolts two turns at a time. Remove the brake disc/drum.
6. Bend back the locking tab (A), unscrew the axle shaft nut (B) and remove the rear axle shaft (on 4WD vehicles) (WITH).
7. Remove the parking brake shoes.
8. Disconnect the parking brake cable (A) from the support plate.
Note: The parking brake cable must not be bent or deformed. Otherwise, this will result in harsh brake operation and premature cable failure.
9. Remove the wheel sensor (A) from the steering knuckle (if there is an ABS system).
10. Place a jack under the trailing arm (A) and support it.
Note: Do not place the jack under the flat area of the lower control arm. Do not damage suspension components.
11. Remove the flange bolt and separate the upper arm (B) from the steering knuckle.
12. Mark the cam position on the adjusting bolt (A) and adjusting cam (B), then loosen the self-locking nut (C), adjusting cam and adjusting bolt. Discard the self-locking nut.
13. Remove the steering knuckle (A) by pressing the drive shaft and holding the outer joint of the drive shaft (B). (Only on 4WD vehicles).
14. Installation of the steering knuckle is performed in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following:
- First install all suspension components and lightly tighten the bolts and nuts, then place a jack under the lower arm and raise the suspension so that it takes the load of the vehicle, and fully tighten the bolts and nuts to the required torque.
- When tightening, align the positions of the cam on the adjusting bolt (A) and the adjusting cam (B) with the marks applied.
- When assembling, install new self-locking nuts.
- When assembling, install new nuts on the axle shafts.
- Before tightening the axle nut, apply a small amount of engine oil to the seating surface of the nut. After tightening, use a drift to tap the axle nut shoulder into the groove on the drive shaft.
- Before installing the brake disc/drum, clean the mating surfaces on the rear wheel hub and the inside of the brake disc/drum.
- Before installing the wheel, clean the contact surfaces on the brake disc/drum and the inside of the wheel.
- Check the front wheel alignment angles and adjust if necessary.
