1. Connect the vacuum gauge in the same way as when checking for leaks.

4. Start the engine and let it run at idle speed.

5. Ask an assistant to press the brake pedal with a force of 98 N (10 kgf·m) and 294 N (30 kgf·m), measuring the pressure with a pressure gauge (A).

6. At each vacuum value, the pressure values indicated in the table below should be observed on the pressure gauges.

7. If the reading is outside the range specified above, check the master cylinder for leaks.
