1. Turn off the ignition and raise the car.
2. Disconnect the connector from the sensor. Note that the front wheel speed sensors are mounted next to the yellow wiring that is related to the airbag. It is forbidden to disturb the position of the airbag wiring. Remove the cover to disconnect the connector (bracket) cable ties, brackets (or clamps) wiring, previously designating (or sketching) wiring route.
3. Unscrew the sensor mounting bolt and remove the sensor, if necessary, lightly tap with a plastic hammer on the flange part of the sensor (off the hull).
4. When installing the sensor, lay the wires exactly along the route indicated during disassembly, twisting the wires is not allowed. After laying the wires, tighten the sensor mounting bolt with a torque of 22 Nm. Put on the wiring brackets, case (or bracket) wire attachments. Connect the connector.
Examination
1. Check the gap between the sensor head and the rotor by slowly turning the hub (photo).
2. The gap must be:
- on CR-V and 4-cylinder Odyssey models 0.5-1.0 mm (all wheels),
- on 6-cylinder Odyssey 0.5-1.0 mm (front wheels) and 0.2-1.1 mm (rear wheels)
Speed Sensor Rotor (tonvalik) - examination
Check the condition of the rotor teeth, replace the rotor with damaged teeth. Remove any foreign objects lodged between the sensor teeth. On all-wheel drive CR-V models, the speed sensor rotor is mounted in the axle shaft; if the sensor fails, the axle shaft must be replaced.
