1. Check the travel of the parking brake lever, which should be:
- on CR-V models 2-6 clicks at 196 N lever force
- on 4-cylinder Odyssey 4-8 clicks with a lever force of 196 N
- on 6-cylinder Odyssey 3-5 clicks at 294 N lever effort
2. Release the parking brake lever and raise the rear of the vehicle.
3. On CR-V and 4-cylinder Odyssey models, remove the screw caps, unscrew the screws and remove the lever trims. Turn the nut to adjust the cable tension. Make sure that the shoes do not hit the drum when the lever is fully released.
4. On 6-cylinder Odysseys, depress the pedal by moving it 3 clicks, tighten the nut on the pedals until the shoes are in contact with the drums. Then release the parking brake lever and make sure the chocks do not hit the drums and the wheels turn freely. The lever should move 3-5 clicks with a lever force of 294 N.
5. Lower the car.
