1. Set the crankshaft to the HMT position for each cylinder.

2. Remove the caps from the connecting rods, then install the piston ring installer and make sure the bearing is securely fixed.

5. Stop knocking when the piston ring installer is released and check the alignment of the connecting rod and crankpin before seating the piston in place.



6. Check the connecting rod bearing clearance using a Plastigage gauge.

8. Apply engine oil to the bolt threads, then install the bearing caps. Tighten the bolts to 20 Nm (2.0 kgf·m) + 90°.
