2. Clean and dry the contact surfaces of the oil pan.
3. Apply sealant, 08C70-K0234M, 08C70-K0334M or 08C70-X0331S, evenly to the contact surface of the cylinder block under the oil pan and to the internal threads of the bolt holes.
Note: Do not install components if more than 5 minutes have passed since applying the sealant. Instead, reapply the sealant, removing any traces of the old one.
4. Install the oil pan.
5. Tighten the bolts in sequence in two or three passes. On the final pass, tighten all bolts sequentially to 12 Nm (1.2 kgf·m).
6. Install the stiffener (k24A1 engine with manual transmission).
7. If the engine is still in the car, install the subframe.
- a. Install the subframe. Align the reference lines on the subframe with the centers of the bolt heads, then tighten the bolts.
- b. Install the ATF filter mounting bolt.
- c. Tighten the front support mounting bolt.
- g. Tighten the rear support mounting bolt.
- d. Connect the ball joints of the lower suspension arms.
8. After assembly, wait at least 30 minutes before adding oil to the engine.
