Adjusting the Clutch Pedal and Clutch Pedal Position Switch (Honda CR-V 2)

Note:
  • For information on checking the clutch pedal position switch, see. in ch. "Cruise control".
  • Before adjusting the clutch pedal, remove the floor mat from the driver's side.
  • The clutch self-adjusts as it wears.
  • If there is no clearance between the clutch master cylinder piston and the pressure rod, the release bearing will be pressed against the diaphragm spring, which can cause clutch slippage and other problems.


1. Loosen the lock nut (A) and unscrew the clutch pedal position switch or clutch pedal adjusting bolt (B) until it contacts the clutch pedal (C).

2. Loosen the lock nut (D) and turn the push rod (E) in or out until the desired height (F), stroke (G), free play (H), and clutch pedal height in the fully depressed position are achieved.
  • Pedal travel: 125-135 mm
  • Clutch pedal free play: 6-17 mm
  • Clutch pedal height: 200 mm
  • Clutch pedal height in fully depressed position: 112 mm

3. Tighten the lock nut (D).

4. With the clutch pedal depressed, turn the clutch pedal position switch or clutch pedal adjusting bolt (B) until it touches the clutch pedal (C).

5. Turn the clutch pedal position switch or clutch pedal adjusting bolt (B) 3/4-1 turn further.



6. Tighten the lock nut (A).

7. Press the clutch pedal to the floor.

8. Release the clutch pedal 10-16 mm from the fully depressed position and lock it in this position. Adjust the position of the clutch interlock switch (K) so that the engine starts when the clutch pedal is depressed to this position.

9. Tighten the lock nut (J).
