Removal
These switches send electrical signals to the control unit to turn off the cruise control function when one or the other pedal is pressed. The switches are located on the corresponding pedals, at the top.
The brake light switch also turns on the light at the rear of the vehicle when the brake pedal is pressed.
To remove either switch, disconnect the electrical connectors, loosen the lock nut and remove the switch.
Installation
Set the switch and lock nut so that the switch operates within the first 13 mm of pedal travel. If the switch is set to operate immediately, without any play, the cruise control may be disengaged by bumps in the road.
