1. The manufacturer recommends testing using a spark gap to which the spark plug wire is connected. The second electrode of the spark gap is connected to ground. If a spark is observed in the spark gap when the crankshaft is turned, then the ignition system is working properly.
2. If there is no spark, check the ignition system components and devices separately.

Checking ignition by engine power drop
It is permissible to check the ignition by successively disconnecting the wires from the spark plugs using special insulating pliers. This test allows you to identify the cylinder that is not firing. If the wire is disconnected, the engine will start to run intermittently. Reinstall the wire and disconnect the wire on the next cylinder. If the engine's performance does not change, check the spark plug and wire. Repeat the test on the remaining cylinders.

Caution! The disconnected high-voltage wire must be reliably grounded.
Adjustments
On CR-V and Odyssey 2.2/2.3L models, only the basic ignition setting is allowed (the order is discussed in Chapter 1).
