Removal
1. Disconnect the battery from ground.
2. After turning the crankshaft, align the white mark on the crankshaft pulley with the pointer on the front cover.
3. Mark the high voltage wires on the cover, do not disconnect the wires.
4. Remove the cover from the distributor and determine the orientation of the runner. If the runner is not pointing towards the output of cylinder 1, then turn the crankshaft 1 revolution counterclockwise, aligning the white mark on the crankshaft pulley with the pointer on the front cover.
5. If the removed distributor is to be installed, mark the orientation of the distributor housing and runner.
6. Disconnect the connector from the distributor.
7. Unscrew 3 screws and remove the distributor.
Installation
8. If the crankshaft or camshaft was turned after removing the distributor, then set the piston of the 1st cylinder to TDC of the compression stroke by turning the crankshaft until the white mark on the pulley aligns with the pointer, or so that the UP mark on the camshaft sprocket faces up (if the front cover is removed).
9. Then assembly is carried out in reverse order. Replace the sealing ring. Align all marks made during disassembly. When finished, clear the contents of the processor unit memory (see above) and check the ignition setting.
