1. Check the inner (A) and outer (B) boots on the drive shaft (C) for cracks, damage, grease leakage, and boot clamps (D) for looseness. If any damage is found, replace the boots and clamps.
2. Turn the drive shaft by hand and make sure that there is no excessive play in the splines (E) and joint.
3. Make sure the drive shaft is not twisted or cracked; otherwise replace it.
