Removal the steering gear (Honda CR-V 2)

Perform the removal taking into account the following:
  • Using solvent and a brush, wash away oil and dirt from the valve body assembly, its tubes and the end of the steering gear. Blow with compressed air.
  • Before disconnecting the steering column joint, remove the steering wheel. Otherwise, the spiral wire may be damaged.

1. Raise the front of the vehicle and support it securely.

2. Remove the front wheels.

3. Remove the driver's airbag assembly and steering wheel.

4. Remove the driver's side lower instrument panel cover and lower kick panel.

5. Remove the bolts from the steering column joint and detach the steering column joint by moving the joint (A) toward the column.

7. Remove the cotter pin (A) from the steering rod ball joint nut (B) and loosen the nut.

9. Loosen the adjustable hose clamp (A) and disconnect the outlet hose (B) and remove the outlet pipe clamp (on right-hand drive models) (WITH).

10. Loosen the 14mm socket nut (A) on the driver's side and disconnect the feed pipe (B) and remove the clamps (C) from the feed pipe.



Remove the mounting bolt (D) from the power steering outlet pipe bracket (on left-hand drive models).

11. Remove the power steering outlet pipe bracket (A) and outlet pipe clamp (B) from the passenger side.
