Checking the operation of the steering column tilt mechanism (Honda CR-V 2)

1. Move the steering wheel to the straight-ahead position and fully loosen the tilt adjustment lever.

2. Secure the spring balance to the top point of the steering wheel and move the steering column to the lowest position.

3. Pull the spring balance upwards and take load readings while tilting.

4. Secure the spring balance to the lowest point of the steering wheel.

5. Pull the spring balance down to measure the load while tilting.



Load at tilt (up/down): Standard: 68 N (7.0 kgf) or less

6. If the measurement exceeds the specified limit, adjust the preload of the tilt adjustment lever.
