2. Compress the valve spring with the device (photo) and remove the crackers. After removing the tool, remove the remaining valve drive parts and take out the valve. Remove the oil seal (are provided on some engines). If the cap cannot be removed due to sticking, first remove the valve.
3. If necessary, file the valve stem (if the engine has significant mileage, then the groove under the cracker breaks, forming a thickening along the edge).
4. Remove the thrust washer (are provided on some vehicles).

5. Remove the remaining valves.
