Brake pedal — checking and adjustment (Honda Fit 1)

1. Fold back the floor covering.

2. Press the brake pedal 2-3 times.

3. Measure the brake pedal height (A): the distance from the center of the pedal (C) to the floor (B).

Pedal height:
  • right hand drive models - 145 mm

left hand drive models:
  • models with automatic transmission - 145 mm
  • models with manual transmission - 141 mm

models with manual transmission - 141 mm


Adjust the height of the brake pedal if necessary.

4. Adjusting the height of the brake pedal.

a) Loosen the brake light switch lock nut.

b) Loosen the lock nut (A).

c) Adjust the height of the brake pedal by rotating the rod.



d) Tighten the lock nut.

d) After adjustment, check the free play of the brake pedal and the correct operation of the brake lights.

5. Checking the free travel of the brake pedal.

Gently press the brake pedal until you feel resistance, measure the free travel of the pedal.
  • Pedal free travel - 1-5 mm
