
2. Release the spring compressor pressure, then disassemble the shock absorber as shown in the exploded view figure.
3. Assemble all parts except the upper spring seat and the spring itself.
4. Press the shock absorber assembly with your hands and check for smooth operation throughout the entire stroke, both in compression and extension. When the pressure is released, the shock absorber should extend smoothly and evenly. If not, then there is a gas leak somewhere and the shock absorber should be replaced.

5. Check for oil leaks, strange noises or binding while performing these checks.
