Note:
  • Wear protective gloves.
  • Avoid scratching the body and adjacent components.

1. Remove the following components:
  • Finishing the front door threshold.
  • Wing panel.
  • Finishing the rear door sill.
  • Lower trim of the middle pillar.
  • Back seat.
  • Rear side decorative panel, on the left side.

2. Roll up the carpet if necessary.

3. Loosen the bolts (A), then remove the opening lever (B). Remove the clamp (C) (on some models) using a clamp remover, remove the fuel filler door release cable (D) from the clamps (E, F).

4. Remove the shock absorber tape (G). Remove the cable from the clamp (H) and remove the clamps (C) using a puller.

5. Remove the fuel filler door lock (I) by turning it 90°, then remove the fuel filler door release cable from the vehicle. Do not bend the cable.

6. Install the opening cable (A) in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following:

  • Replace damaged clamps and shock absorber tape.
  • Align the mark (B) on the cable with the clamps and shock absorber tape. At the bottom of the B-pillar, align the front shock absorber strap (C) with the hole (D) and on right-hand drive vehicles, align the rear shock absorber strap (E) with the harness clamp (F).
