1. Remove the inner roof lining.

2. Checking the closing force:
  • Secure the spring balance (C) to the front edge of the glass (B), placing a napkin (A) underneath as shown in the figure.

  • Have a partner press the switch in the direction of closing the glass and measure the force required to stop it.
  • Read the reading as soon as the glass stops moving, then immediately release the switch and spring balance.

Closing force: 200-290 N (20-30 kgf)

3. If the force differs from the norm, remove the sunroof motor and check:
  • Is the gear broken or the inner cable torn?. If the gear is broken, replace the electric motor. If the inner cable is broken, remove the frame and replace the cables as an assembly.
  • Hatch electric motor. If the motor does not run or rotates roughly, replace it.
  • Resistance when opening. Proceed to p. 4.

4. Checking the opening resistance: Cover the front edge of the glass with a napkin (A). Measure the force required to open the glass using a spring balance (B), as shown in the figure.

5. If the force exceeds 40 N (4 kgf), check:
  • Side clearance and glass height.
  • Are there any broken or damaged moving parts?. If there are any, replace them.
