1. Remove the distributor cap and rotor.

2. Turn the crankshaft so that the magnetic resistance marks are aligned with the ends of the stator.

3. Using non-metallic templates, check the gaps between the magnetic resistance and the stator; they must match.

4. To adjust, loosen the stator-distributor mounting screws, adjust the stator magnetic resistance gap and tighten the screws.

5. Recheck the gap.
