1. Remove both steering column covers.
2. Move the transmission selector to position N.
3. Turn away a nut and remove a cable end from draft of a gear change.
4. Pull the cable towards you as far as it will go and release it. Pull the rope away from you.
5. Switch on the ignition and check that the N position lamp is lit.
6. Insert a pin with a diameter of 6 mm into the hole in the retainer plate, which you also pass into the hole in the bracket.
7. Slide the cable onto the stud and tighten the cable locknut.
8. Remove the pin.
9. Translate the selector in all positions and be convinced that control lamps shine in all positions of the selector.
