1. Remove the hatch on the right lower casing of a steering column.
2. Move the transmission selector to position N.
3. Remove the pin from the end of the cable and check the alignment of the hole in the end of the cable with the adjustable tip of the shift rod.
4. If the holes do not match, then loosen the locknut of the cable tip and rotate the tip until the specified holes match exactly.
5. If resistance is felt when inserting the pin, repeat the adjustment.
6. The pin must click in, otherwise replace the pin.
7. Insert the key into the ignition switch and make sure the transmission link lock is unlocked.
