1. Remove the hatch on the right lower steering column cover.

2. Move the transmission selector to position N.

3. Remove the pin from the cable end and check the alignment of the hole in the cable end with the adjustable end of the shift rod.

4. If the holes do not match, loosen the lock nut on the cable end and rotate the end until the specified holes match exactly.

5. If you feel resistance when installing the pin, repeat the adjustment.

6. The pin should go in until it clicks, otherwise replace the pin.

7. Insert the key into the ignition switch and make sure that the transmission traction lock is unlocked.
