Replacing the ignition distributor (Honda HR-V 1)

Removal

1. Disconnect the connector from the distributor.

2. Disconnect the high voltage wires from the distributor cap.

3. Remove the mounting bolts from the distributor, then remove the distributor from the cylinder head.



4. Insert the mounting bolts and tighten them fully.

5. Connect the high tension wires to the distributor cap as shown in the figure.

6. Connect the connector to the distributor.

7. Adjust the ignition timing (see above).

8. After completing the adjustment, tighten the mounting bolts.

Installation

1. Set the piston of cylinder No.1 to TDC in the compression stroke.

2. Lubricate the new O-ring with engine oil and install it.

3. Align the protrusion on the distributor with the corresponding recess on the camshaft and insert the distributor.

Note: The protrusion on the distributor and the corresponding recess on the camshaft are offset to avoid incorrect installation of the distributor with a 180° offset.
