Attention! On Odyssey V6 vehicles, the lower ball joint and suspension arm are a non-separable structure. If the ball joint fails, replace the lower control arm assembly.
CR-V and 4-cylinder Odyssey
Withdrawal
1. Remove the brake caliper and disc (see Chap. 9).
2. Remove the steering knuckle (see below).
3. Remove the ball joint boot by removing the circlip. Replace damaged cover.
4. Press the ball joint out of the knuckle with a puller 07HAF-SF101110 (fastened to the pole with a castellated nut for fastening the pole) with ejector 07HAF-SF10130, clenched fist in a vise (photo). An equivalent fixture may also be used.
Installation
5. Install a new ball joint in the steering knuckle hole.
6. Press the ball joint with the puller 07HAF-SF101110 with stop 07HAF-SF10120 (photo), by squeezing risks.
7. Fill the ball joint boot with grease.
8. Slide boot ring over taper mandrel 07974-SA50700 or 07GAG-SD40700. Rotate the bolt to align the mandrel so that its bottom edge is directly above the ring groove. Secure the cover with a spring ring by putting it on the cone and installing it in the groove of the cover.

9. Further assembly is carried out in the reverse order. Adjust the angles of the front wheels.
