Withdrawal
1. Remove the timing belt and balance shaft drive belt (see Sections Removal, condition check and installation of cogwheels and a belt of a drive of balancing shafts and Removing, checking the condition and installing the gas distribution belt and timing gears). Remove the front balance shaft gear and rear balance shaft gear housing assembly. Disconnect the electrical wiring of the CKP / TDC sensor from the main braid. Remove the four mounting bolts and remove the sensor from the oil pump housing.
2. Remove the engine oil pan (see Section Removal and installation of the pallet crankcase of the engine).
3. Disconnect the oil pickup assembly with strainer and tube from the main bearing cap bridge and pump housing.
4. Turn out fixing bolts and remove the oil pump from the engine.
5. Turn out fixing screws and remove a cover from the pump.
Note. In order not to tear off the slots in the heads of the fixing screws, it is better to loosen them with an impact screwdriver.
Examination
1. Measure the running clearances of the pump gears. Compare the measurement results with the requirements of the Specifications. If the gaps are out of tolerance, replace the pump.
2. Unscrew the plug of the pressure reducing valve and remove the valve spring and plunger from the socket in the pump housing. Check the spring for deformation, and the plunger for scratches and burrs. Defective components must be replaced.
3. Install the gears in the pump housing and fill the cavities between their teeth with petroleum jelly (as initial seeding on initial run).
4. Lubricate the screws securing the pump cover with anti-seize sealant. Install the cover, screw in the screws and tighten them to the required torque. Install the pressure relief valve plunger and spring into the pump housing. After replacing the sealing washer, screw in the plug and tighten it firmly.
Installation
1. Lightly coat the mating surface of the pump housing with RTV Sealant. Make sure that the guide pin is in place and install the pump after replacing the o-rings. Lubricate the threads of the mounting bolts with RTV sealant, screw them in and tighten to the required torque.
Note. The pump must be installed within 5 minutes after applying the sealant. Make sure that the flats on the inner gear of the pump are aligned with the mating flats on the crankshaft trunnion.
2. Install the gear wheel assembly with the gear housing on the rear balance shaft. Install the timing belt and balance shaft drive belt next.
3. Install the CKP / TDC sensor in place by tightening the bolts securing it to the pump with the required force. Restore the original wiring connection.
4. Reinstall the oil pickup assembly by tightening the mounting bolts to the correct torque (don't forget to replace the gaskets).
5. Install the oil pan (see Section Removal and installation of the pallet crankcase of the engine).
6. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of dismantling. In conclusion, do not forget to fill the engine with engine oil and fill the cooling system (see chapter Settings and ongoing maintenance).
7. Start the engine and check for signs of leaks.
