Withdrawal
1. Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature, then drain the engine oil and remove the oil filter (see chapter Settings and ongoing maintenance).
2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
Attention! If the stereo system installed in the car is equipped with a security code, before disconnecting the battery, make sure that you have the correct combination to activate the audio system!
3. Jack up the car and place it on supports. Remove the crankcase protection.
4. Turn out bolts of fastening of a stiffening rib of the engine.
5. Give bolts of fastening of the pallet to the block of the engine.
6. After tapping the pan along the perimeter with a soft-faced hammer in order to destroy the sealant layer, separate it from the block - in no case do not try to pry the pan under the mating surface!
Installation
1. Scrape off all traces of sealant and old gasket material from the mating surfaces of the sump and block. Remove the end seal inserts from the pallet or block. Thoroughly wipe the mating surfaces with a rag soaked in acetone. Clean and dry the threaded holes in the block.
2. Wash the sump with solvent and dry it thoroughly. Make sure that there are no deformations of the pallet mounting flange, if necessary, lay the pallet with a flange on a flat wooden block and straighten it.
3. Apply sealant to the mating surfaces of the oil pump to the block and the crankshaft rear oil seal holder to the block. Also apply sealant to the back of the pan gasket at the corners of the semicircular end seal insert.
4. Gently press the tray against the unit.
5. Install the two front, two rear and two center nuts and hand-tighten them. Screw in the remaining bolts and in several stages (with small steps) tighten fasteners to the required torque. Start tightening the fasteners in the direction from the center to the edges of the pallet, moving in a spiral. Remember that overtightening fasteners is fraught with the development of leaks.
6. Reinstall the engine stiffener and secure it with bolts, tightening them to the required torque (see Specifications to Chapter Gear box).
7. Fill with engine oil (see chapter Settings and ongoing maintenance), start the engine and check the sump for leaks.
