Testing the Low Fuel Warning Light (Honda CR-V 2)

1. Test the fuel gauge sensor.
  • If the system is OK, proceed to step. 2.
  • If there are any problems with the system, fix them.

2. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. Remove fuse #9 BACK UP (10 A) from the underhood fuse/relay box for at least 30 seconds and replace.

3. Turn the ignition key to the ON (II) position, moving the float to the E (EMPTY) position.
  • If the low fuel warning light comes on, go to step. 4.
  • If the low fuel warning light does not come on, check the circuit using the warning light wiring diagram.

4. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. Remove fuse #9 BACK UP (10 A) from the underhood fuse/relay box for at least 30 seconds and replace.

5. Move the float to the 1/2 (HALF TANK) position.
  • If the low fuel warning light goes out, the system is OK.
  • If the low fuel warning light is still on, check the circuit using the warning light wiring diagram.
