Removal



1. Remove the front chain cover.

3. Align the holes on the retainer (A) and the automatic tensioner (B), then insert the pin (C) with a diameter of 1.5 mm into the holes. Turn the crankshaft clockwise and fix the pin.

Installation



1. Install the automatic tensioner.

1. Install the automatic tensioner.


2. Remove the pin from the automatic tensioner.

2. Remove the pin from the automatic tensioner.


3. Remove old sealant from the mating surfaces of the front chain cover, bolts and bolt holes.

4. Clean and dry the contact surfaces of the front chain cover.

5. Apply sealant, P/N 08C70-K0234M, 08C70-K0334M or 08C70-X0331S, evenly to the contact surface of the chain cover under the front chain cover and to the internal threads of the holes.



5. Apply sealant, P/N 08C70-K0234M, 08C70-K0334M…


Note: Do not install components if more than 5 minutes have passed since applying the sealant. Instead, reapply the sealant, removing any traces of the old one.
