Removal
1. Remove the timing chain.
2. While holding the camshaft with a wrench, loosen the electronic timing Control (VTC) drive mounting bolt and the exhaust valve sprocket mounting bolt.
3. Remove the VTC actuator and exhaust camshaft sprocket.
Installation
1. Install the VTC actuator and exhaust camshaft sprocket.
2. Apply engine oil to the threads of the VTC actuator mounting bolt and exhaust camshaft sprocket mounting bolt, then tighten them.
3. Hold the camshaft with a wrench and tighten the bolts.
Tightening torque:
VTC Drive Mounting Bolt: 11.3 Nm (11.5 kgf·m)
Exhaust camshaft sprocket mounting bolt: 72 Nm (7.2 kgf·m)
4. Install the timing chain.
