Working in different lever positions
P - Parking.
Position when parking or starting the engine. Position in which the ignition key is removed.
Note: If the selector lever is set to a position other than "P", the ignition key is not turned to position "0" and is not removed.
R - Reverse.
The position when reverse gear is engaged. An audible signal sounds to remind the driver that you are moving backwards.
N - Neutral position.
You can start the engine in this position, but it is safer to do so in position "P".
D - Movement.
The position in which movement is usually carried out.
L - Position used when it is necessary to use the engine braking effect.
Selector lever operation

Switching the automatic transmission operating mode (models J, J4)
When you shift the selector lever to the "D" position, you can select the desired mode using the switch.
Pressing the "S" mode button switches to "S" mode. To return to the original mode, press the "D" mode button.

When the "S" mode is selected, a light comes on on the instrument panel.
- Mode "D" - for normal driving.
- "S" mode - used for sharp acceleration and deceleration.
When the "S" mode is engaged, you can drive efficiently at high engine speeds.
Note: If you turn the ignition key to position I in "S" mode, "D" mode will be automatically engaged.
Switching the operating mode of the automatic transmission (model JS4)
In the "D" position of the selector lever, three modes can be selected. Pressing the S1/S2 mode button switches S1→S2→S1... To return to the original D mode, press the D mode button.

When S1 or S2 modes are selected, the light on the instrument panel comes on.
- Mode "D" - for normal driving.
- "S" mode - used for sharp acceleration and deceleration.
In S1 mode, you can drive efficiently at high engine speeds. S2 mode is even more efficient at high engine speeds.
Note: If the ignition key is set to position "I" in mode S1 or S2, mode "D" is automatically engaged.
