Note. Components of the optional Inflatable Airbag System (SRS) are located on this site. Before performing repairs or maintenance, review information on the location of SRS system components, precautions, and procedures.
1. Set the front wheels to the straight-ahead position, then remove the driver's airbag assembly from the steering wheel.
2. Disconnect the connector from the cruise control SET/RESUME switch (A) (if there is one) and from the sound signal switch (B).

3. Loosen the steering wheel bolt (C).
4. Install the steering wheel puller (A) onto the steering wheel (B). Remove the steering wheel from the steering gear shaft by turning the push bolt (C) on the puller.

Remove the steering wheel taking into account the following:
- Do not knock on the steering wheel or steering shaft.
- If the puller bolts (D) are screwed into the steering wheel hub more than five threads, the bolts will hit the spiral wire and damage it. To prevent this from happening, screw a pair of lock nuts onto the puller bolts at the level of the fifth thread.
5. Remove the steering wheel puller, then loosen the steering wheel bolt and remove the steering wheel from the steering column.
