1. Compress the shock absorber spring with a strut spring compressor (A) according to the manufacturer's instructions, then loosen the self-locking nut (B) while securing the shock absorber rod (C) with a hex key (D). Do not compress the spring more than is required to loosen the nut.

2. Release the spring compressor pressure, then disassemble the shock absorber as shown in the exploded view figure.

3. Assemble all parts except the spring.

4. Press the shock absorber assembly with your hands and check for smooth operation throughout the entire stroke, both in compression and extension. When the pressure is released, the shock absorber should extend smoothly and evenly. If not, then there is a gas leak somewhere and the shock absorber should be replaced.
