10. If the outer hinge was removed from the axle shaft, then do the following.
- A. Install a new ring.
- B. Align the marks on the axle shaft and the hinge and insert the axle shaft into the hinge until the gap at the junction of the spring ring disappears.
- B. While holding the pivot shaft, tap and seat the pivot in place (the retaining ring must fit into the groove).
- D. Check the position of the hinge on the axle shaft by laying a ruler along the hinge body (photo). The edge of the ruler should match with the mark made during disassembly.
11. Using a spatula with a width of 50 mm, put grease from the repair kit into the case:
12. Put the cover on the outer hinge.
13. Put on a large collar, do not fasten a small collar yet.
14. Install the cross, matching the marks made during disassembly. Install the ring in the groove
15. Slide the rollers onto the cross spikes where they were previously installed with the collars on the rollers facing out.
16. Fill the pivot housing with grease.
17. Put the inner hinge housing on the half shaft, holding the half shaft with rollers down.
18. To fix the covers, 3 types of clamps are used.
- A. To tighten the clamp with the center brace, push the end of the brace into place, push down on the brace, and bend the tabs at the ends of the brace. Tap the tabs with a small hammer to secure.
- B. To tighten the double coil clamp, first orient the clamp so that the clamp bracket is facing up and the end of the clamp band is facing forward in the direction of the vehicle (if we imagine that the axle shaft is installed on the car). Lay the clamp in the groove of the cover, wrap it with 2 turns. Pull the tie into the buckle. Tighten the clamp by hand and make a mark 12 mm from the buckle (photo). Tighten the collar so that the mark is aligned with the near edge of the buckle and bend the band of the collar 90°. Hold the tape in this position. Fix the buckle by tapping it with a punch, cut the clamp 10 mm from the buckle and bend it.
- B. To tighten the tongue clamp, place the band of the clamp over the protruding tongue and squeeze the tongue with pliers on the protruding part (or bend with round-nose pliers so that the gap at the base of the lug becomes about 3 mm).
18. Put the cover on the hinge body, secure the cover with a large collar. Do not wear the small collar yet.
19. Install the edges of the covers so that the covers take their original position, guided by the marks made during disassembly.
20. Fix both covers with small collars.
21. Install the axle shaft in place by replacing the circlip. Check the reliability of the fixation of the hinge axis in the differential gear (the axle must be firmly held by the retaining ring, which must fit into the groove).
