2. Turn on the ignition, move the heater lever to the position of maximum heat transfer and turn off the ignition.
3. Disconnect the battery from the ground.
4. In the engine compartment, disconnect the cable from the crane by removing the heater bracket (the valve is located on the wall of the engine compartment, under the fuel filter).
5. Drain the liquid from the radiator of the cooling system.
6. On 4-cylinder Odysseys, remove the upper intake manifold.
7. Release the clamp and disconnect the heater hoses from the side of the engine compartment and drain the remaining fluid.
8. Turn away a nut from a hairpin located from above to the right above heater hoses.
9. Remove the dashboard (see Chap. 10).
10. On 4-cylinder Odysseys, remove the steering column bracket, brackets for the central part of the instrument panel and the heater top cover.
11. Remove the A/C evaporator by doing the following.
- In the engine compartment, disconnect and plug the evaporator tubes.
- Remove the glove box.
- Remove the mounting screws, bolt and nut, disconnect the drain hose and remove the evaporator.
12. Disconnect the connectors from the electric drive of the dividing and mixing dampers of the heater, remove the latches and remove the wiring harnesses from the heater body.
13. Remove the latches and disconnect the air duct from the heater. Turn away nuts and remove a heater, without spilling of the remains of liquid.
14. Remove the cover, seals of the radiator pipes, remove the clamp and remove the radiator.
15. Installation is carried out in the reverse order, taking into account the following.
- When assembling, replace all air conditioner seals and charge the air conditioner with refrigerant at a car service.
- Lightly lubricate the hoses with sealant when assembling the heater. Adjust the heater cable drive cable. To do this, move the lever on the instrument panel to the position corresponding to the complete closing of the crane, release the cable sheath fastening bracket and move the crane lever away from the wall of the engine compartment to the stop. Check for slack in the cable and secure the sheath with a brace.
