SRS Air Safety System — Precautions (Honda CR-V 1)

The SRS air safety system of the vehicles in question includes an airbag, sensors, a control unit and a control lamp on the instrument panel.

When handling the pillow container, always keep the lined side of the container facing away from you. Do not place the container with the facing side down. It is prohibited to install or reinstall an airbag module that has been removed from a vehicle that has been damaged or disassembled for spare parts. The pneumatic safety system circuit may only be checked using a digital multimeter, the current in the measuring circuit of which, when switching to a range of several Ohms and below, does not exceed 10 mA. It is prohibited to change the wiring of the airbag module. When working near the module, disconnect both cables from the battery.

It is prohibited to expose the airbag module to mechanical impacts and heat sources. When working under the instrument panel or near the steering column, always disable the air safety system, including the belt tensioner connectors. After the module has been triggered, replace the control unit, airbag and belt tensioners.

Always store the airbag container with the facing side facing up.
