Removal
1. Raise the car, remove the wheel.
2. Loosen the outer tip lock nut 1/8 turn.
3. Mark the position of the tie rod end relative to the end of the inner rod.
4. Unscrew the crown nut of the tip, press the steering rod tip out of the steering knuckle.
5. Unscrew the steering rod end. Count the number of complete revolutions required to unscrew the rod.
Installation
6. Lubricate the threads of the tie rod end with a thin layer of anti-seize compound, then screw on the lock nut.
7. Tighten the steering rod end by the number of turns counted during disassembly.
8. Install the tie rod pin into the steering knuckle and tighten the castle nut to torque (Nm):
- CR-V (with crown nut) 39-47
- CR-V (without crown nut) 43
- 4-cylinder Odyssey 43
- Odyssey V6 54
9. Secure the nut with a new cotter pin.
10. Tighten the tie rod end lock nut.
11. Further installation is carried out in reverse order. Check and adjust the rear wheel alignment.
