Removal
1. Disable the pneumatic safety system (Chapter 6).
2. On CR-V and Odyssey 76 vehicles, remove the steering column as follows:
- a. Remove the steering wheel
- b. Remove the lower cover of the delivery panel and the knee pad.
- c. On vehicles with automatic transmission, place the selector lever in position N and disconnect the cable from the selector lever.
- d. Remove the combination switch.
- e. Mark the relative position of the steering shaft clamp and remove the clamp.
- f. Remove the steering column fasteners.
3. For 4 cylinder Odyssey:
- a. Remove the lower cover of the import panel.
- b. Remove the steering column covers.
- c. Disconnect the 7-pin and 8-pin wiring connectors.
- d. Loosen the steering column mounting bolts and nuts.
- e. Lower the steering column.
4. Punch the shear screws and drill out.
5. Turn the ignition key to position "I".
6. Press the lock at the top of the clamp and remove the clamp lock.
Installation
7. On CR-V and 4-cylinder Odyssey vehicles:
a. Turn the ignition key to position "I".
b. Press the ignition key and insert the ignition switch until it clicks.
8. On Odyssey V6 vehicles, install the ignition switch housing;key not inserted).
9. Tighten the shear bolts.
10. Install the key and check the ignition switch.
11. Tighten the shear bolts until the heads break.
12. Align the steering column marks and tighten the bolts.
13. Connect the wiring.
14. Install the column covers.
17. Install the instrument panel cover and knee pad.
18. Bring the pneumatic safety system into a state of readiness (Chapter 6).
