Withdrawal
1. Raise the car and remove the wheel.
2. Clean the outer tie rod to the tip locknut.
3. Loosen the outer tie rod end locknut 1/8 turn.
4. Release the dust cover clamps, remove the small clamp.
5. To access the inner tie rod nut, unscrew the dust cover.
6. Loosen and loosen the tie rod nut 1 turn (turn the wheels if necessary).
7. Designate labels a mutual arrangement of a tip of steering draft.
8. Unsplint and unscrew the castellated nut of the outer tie rod end pin and press the tie rod end out of the steering knuckle.
9. Holding a key internal draft, turn out a tip of steering draft. Count the number of complete revolutions required to retract the tip.
10. Turn away a counternut of a tip of steering draft.
11. Remove the inner dust cover.
12. Turn away a nut of spherical coupling of internal draft and remove draft.
Installation
13. Check up a condition of a tip of steering draft and rubber details, replace the damaged details.
14. Clean the linkage and lubricate with Genuine Honda Power Steering Oil.
15. Lubricate the threaded parts of the ball joint and locknut with an elastic locking compound, put on a new lock washer (on Odyssey models, also replace the lock washer) and screw the inner tie rod end into the steering rack.
16. Tighten the fastening of the inner tie rod end g torque (Nm):
- CR-V 54
- 4-cylinder Odyssey 78
- Odyssey V6 83
17. Bend the edges of the lock washer onto the nut (or on the flat of the rail).
18. Lubricate the edges of the ball joint of the tie rod end and the adjacent groove with silicone grease.
19. Lubricate the inside of the neck of the dust cover with silicone grease. Put a dust cover on the inner rod, install in place and secure with clamps (on parts of cars, install air hose fittings on the cover).
20. Apply a thin layer of anti-seize compound to the threads of the tie rod end, screw on the locknut.
21. Screw in the tie rod end by the number of revolutions counted during disassembly.
22. Install the tie rod end.
23. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order. Check and adjust rear wheel alignment.
