Instrument cluster (Odyssey V6) — removal and installation (Honda CR-V 1)

1. Disconnect the battery from ground.

2. Disable the SRS air safety system (see Ch. 6).

3. Remove the following parts and panels:
  • lower cover of the instrument panel,
  • steering column cover,
  • lower container in the central part,
  • glove compartment.

4. Remove the side covers of the heater control panel from the latches.

5. Remove the front door opening seals.

6. Remove the wheel arch mudguard trim panels.

7. Carefully remove the latch and remove the windshield side trim.

8. Working from the outside of the driver's door, pry up and remove the small corner trim near the bend in the A-pillar from its latches, remove the screw and remove the corner trim from its latches.

9. On the passenger side, unscrew the screw on the right side of the instrument panel and remove this part of the panel from the latches.

10. Unscrew the bolt at the bottom of the relay and fuse box and remove the box. Disconnect the connectors on the left, center and right sides of the instrument panel. Using a T30 Torx screwdriver, loosen the ground connection bolt on the airbag control unit. Disconnect all wires and mounting brackets under the instrument panel.

14. Unscrew the 14 mounting bolts (mark the bolts, as they are of different lengths and should be tightened in place):
  • 4 bolts on the left side of the panel,
  • 3 bolts on the right side of the panel
  • 3 bolts in the steering column opening and 4 bolts securing the center section.

15. Carefully lift and remove the instrument panel.

16. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Tighten the ground connection bolt using a T30 Torx screwdriver.
