Relieving pressure in the fuel system (Honda HR-V 1)

Before disconnecting fuel lines or hoses, relieve pressure in the system by loosening the 12mm banjo bolt on top of the fuel filter.

Warning! Do not smoke when working on the fuel system. Do not produce sparks or open flames in the work area. Relieve fuel pressure with the ignition off.


1. Write down the frequencies of the radio stations with fixed tuning.

2. Disconnect the negative cable from the negative battery terminal.

3. Remove the cap from the filler neck.

4. Place a socket wrench onto the 12mm banjo bolt on top of the fuel filter while holding the filter with another wrench.

5. Wrap the 12mm banjo bolt with a rag or paper towel.

6. Slowly loosen the 12mm banjo bolt one full turn.

Note: Replace washers whenever the 12mm banjo bolt is loosened or removed.


7. Connect the negative cable to the battery, then enter the preset radio frequencies.
