2. Remove the access panel from the floor.
3. Turn the ignition key to the OFF position, then disconnect the 5-pin connector from the fuel pump.
4. Disconnect quick-detachable connections from the fuel pump.
5. Turn off bolts and remove the fuel pump in gathering.
6. Measure the resistance between terminals #1 and #2 at positions E (EMPTY), 1/2 (HALF TANK) and F (FULL) by moving the float (picture in the next column above.
float position | E | 1/2 | F |
Resistance, Ohm | 130-132 | 68,5-74,5 | 11-13 |
If the measurements do not match the above values, replace the fuel gauge sensor.
1. fuel gauge sensor; 2. terminal; 3. suction filter; 4. collar; 5. tongue
7. Install the fuel gauge sensor in the reverse order of removal with a new packing, then check the following items:
- When connecting the wiring harness, make sure the connection is tight and the terminal is securely locked in place.
- Make sure that the tongue of the clamp does not touch the wiring harness.
- Do not press on the bottom of the suction filter.
- When installing the fuel gauge sensor, make sure the connection is tight and that the connector is securely locked in place. Do not bend or twist it excessively.
