Apply grease to the contact surface of the outer joint and the front wheel bearing.

2. Install the retaining ring onto the drive shaft or intermediate drive shaft.

3. (Left hand drive models)
Apply grease to the splines (A) of the outer race of the inner joint. Then remove grease from every two or three splines and from the installation groove (B) of the snap ring so that air can pass through the intermediate drive shaft.
- Amount of lubricant - 0.5 - 1.0 g

4. Install the drive shaft (C) into the gearbox or onto the intermediate drive shaft so that the retaining ring (A) fits securely into the groove (B).

5. Install the drive shaft (A) into the hub (B).

6. Connect the steering knuckle (A) to the front suspension lower arm (B).

7. Tighten the nut (C) to the specified torque and install the cotter pin (D)
- Tightening torque - 49-59 Nm
8. Install the heat insulator and tighten the mounting bolts.
- Tightening torque - 9.3 Nm

9. Tighten the new wheel hub mounting nut (A).
- Tightening torque - 181 Nm

10. Lock the nut rim (B) as shown in the figure above.
11. Install the wheel (C) and tighten the wheel nuts.
- Tightening torque - 108 Nm
12. Add working fluid to the automatic transmission (variator) or oil to the manual transmission (see chapter "Maintenance and general check and adjustment procedures").
13. Check the front wheel alignment angles (see chapter "Suspension").
