Checking wheel angles
Place the vehicle on a wheel alignment stand and check the maximum steering angles.
Note: If a portable leveling stand is used for adjustment, the rear wheels are placed on a stand so that the vehicle is level.
Camber and caster check
1. Install the car on the stand.
2. Turn away a nut of fastening of a nave of a wheel.
3. Install the special tool.
4. Measure the camber and caster.
5. Remove the special tool.
6. Tighten the new wheel hub nut.
If the caster angle of the steering axis is not within specification, check the suspension components for damage or bends. If necessary, replace the defective element.
If the camber is out of specification, adjust.
Camber adjustment
1. Jack up the front of the vehicle and remove the wheels.
2. Remove the front wheels.
3. Loosen the two nuts at the bottom of the front suspension strut.
4. Adjust the camber by moving the bottom of the strut.
If the camber does not meet the established standards, select the adjusting bolt (A) and adjust the amount of camber.
Note:
- When using one adjusting bolt, camber adjustment is possible in the range of±20'.
- When using two adjusting bolts, camber adjustment is possible in the range of±50'.
5. Tighten the two nuts.
- Tightening torque - 103 Nm
6. Install the front wheels and lower the vehicle.
7. check the camber of the front wheels.
Note: After adjusting the camber of the front wheels, check their toe-in.
Checking and adjusting the convergence
1. Measure the amount of convergence.
A) Rock the car up and down to stabilize the suspension.
b) Roll the vehicle forward about 1 meter on level ground with the front wheels straight ahead.
V) Mark the center of the tread at the rear of the wheels and measure the distance "IN" between the marks on the left and right tires.
G) Roll the car forward so that the marks on the rear side of the wheels are in front at the height of the gauge.
Note: if the marks are below the level of the meter when rolling the car, repeat the procedure from point (V).
d) Measure the distance between the marks of the right and left wheels at the front and calculate the toe-in.
- Convergence = B - A
If the amount of convergence does not meet the specified conditions, adjust by rotating the steering rods.
2. Adjustment of a convergence of forward wheels.
A) Remove the cover clamps.
b) Loosen the lock nuts on the tie rod ends.
V) Rotating left and right traction (A) for the same number of revolutions, adjust the toe.
Note: Make sure that the lengths of the right and left links are the same.
G) Tighten the tie rod end nuts.
- Tightening torque - 44 Nm
d) Install the covers in place and tighten them with clamps.
Note: Make sure the covers are not twisted.
