2. Thoroughly clean the areas where the driveshaft and differential meet with a solvent or carburetor cleaner and dry with compressed air. Insert the inner end of the drive shaft into the differential or countershaft so that the circlip locks into the groove.
3. Insert the outer joint into the front wheel hub.
4. Install the steering knuckle on the lower suspension arm. Do not damage the ball joint boot. Before tightening the nut on the ball joint, remove excess grease. Tighten the castle nut to the lowest tolerance, then tighten just enough to align the notch with the cotter pin hole. Do not do this by loosening the nut.
5. Insert a new cotter pin into the hole and bend the cotter pin as shown.
6. Connect the front stabilizer link to the front stabilizer bar, then secure the stabilizer link ball joint pin with a hex wrench and tighten the collar nut.
7. Put a new nut on the axle shaft, then tighten it. After tightening, using a drift, caulk the tongue of the axle nut on the drive shaft.
8. Clean the contact surfaces of the brake disc and front wheel, then install the front wheel and tighten the wheel nuts.
9. Tighten the shoulder bolts and self-locking nut when the shock absorbers bear the weight of the vehicle.
10. Fill transmission with recommended MTF or ATF.
11.Check the front wheel alignment and adjust if necessary (see ch. «Front and rear suspension»).
