From the side of the inner hinge
1. Remove the circlip from the inner pivot.
2. Remove the clips from the covers. Do not damage the cover and dynamic shock absorber.
- If the clips of the covers are of the welded type, bite them.
- If the clips of the covers are of the two-turn type, bend them.
3. Remove the circlip from the inner pivot.
4. Mark the inner pivot and bearing cage as shown. Wrap the inner joint with a tissue and do not drop the steel balls from the bearing cage, then separate the inner joint from the drive shaft.
5. Mark the drive shaft, bearing race and bearing cage as shown.
6. Remove the steel ball from the bearing cage. Do not damage the steel ball.
7. Remove the ring clip.
8. Remove the bearing race from the drive shaft using a bearing puller (available for sale).
9. Remove the bearing cage.
10. To prevent damage to the inner boot, wrap the splines of the drive shaft with vinyl tape.
11.Remove the inner cover. Do not damage the case.
12. Remove the vinyl tape.
From the side of the outer hinge
1. Remove the clips from the covers. Do not damage the cover and dynamic shock absorber.
- If the clips of the covers are of the welded type, bite them.
- If the clips of the covers are of the two-turn type, bend them.
2. Wipe off grease from drive shaft and outer joint inner race.
3. Mark the drive shaft with paint to mark the position of the end of the outer joint.
4. Carefully secure the drive shaft in a vise.
5. Using the special tool, remove the outer hinge.
6. Remove the drive shaft from the vise.
7. Remove the circlip from the drive shaft.
8. To prevent damage to the outer boot and dynamic damper, wrap the splines of the drive shaft with vinyl tape.
9. Remove the outer cover. Do not damage the case.
10. Remove the vinyl tape.
