Rear axle shaft — removal and installation (Honda CR-V 1)

1. Unlock the axle nut by bending the flange of the nut out of the axle groove. Loosen the nut.

2. Raise the vehicle and remove the rear wheel.

3. Remove the axle shafts from the rear differential (see below).

4. Remove the axle shaft from the rear arm by tapping it with a plastic hammer.

5. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Replace the axle shaft retaining ring. Tighten the fasteners to the specified torques.

Rear axle inner seal - replacement

1. Remove the rear gearbox.

2. Remove the seal. Press in the new seal with a mandrel, lubricate the seal lips with technical petroleum jelly.

3. Assembly is carried out in reverse order.
