Rear gearbox — removal and installation (Honda CR-V 1)

1. Drain the fluid from the gearbox.

2. Disconnect the cardan shaft from the gearbox.

3. Install a jack trolley on the gearbox and remove the left and right brackets.

4. Disconnect the breather hose from the fitting on the rear suspension crossmember.

5. Carefully pry and feed the axle shaft out of the gearbox until the axle shaft retaining ring comes out of the groove.

6. Unscrew the upper bolts of the gearbox bracket.

7. Lower the gearbox like this. to be able to get to the axle shafts, remove the gearbox.

8. Remove the bracket from the gearbox.

9. Installation is carried out in reverse order. When assembling, replace the axle shaft retaining rings and all seals. Install the cardan shaft according to the marks made during disassembly. Tighten the fasteners to the specified torques.
