1. With the engine warmed up and idling, create a vacuum of 8 mm Hg on the valve nipple. If the idle speed drops by 100 rpm when a vacuum is created, and the speed is restored when the vacuum is removed, then the valve is working properly.

Otherwise, check the valve for cleanliness. If cleaning the valve does not produce results, replace the valve.

2. To remove the valve, disconnect the battery from ground, disconnect the connector and vacuum hose from the valve, release the latches and remove the valve from the intake manifold.

3. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Replace the valve gasket.
