Rear hub: 1, 9. Bolt; 2. Sealing ring (replace).; 3. Brake shield; 4. Hub nut (replace, after tightening, lock the nut); 5. Pads; 6. Wheel nut; 7. Brake drum; 8. Rear hub (check for damage); 10. Hub bearing (replace); 17. Trailing arm (check for damage)

Attention! The bearing can only be replaced together with the hub.

Removal

1. Raise the rear of the vehicle. Remove the wheels.

2. Unlock the hub nut by bending the flange out of the groove on the axle. Loosen the hub nut.

3. Remove the brake drum. If the drum is stuck, screw 2 bolts 8x1.25 mm into the drum holes and remove the drum, tightening the bolts one by one.

4. Remove the brake shoes and disconnect the parking brake cable end (Chapter 9).

5. Compress the spring clip (to do this, put a 12 mm open-end wrench with a slot on the cable) and pull the cable through the brake shield.

6. Disconnect the brake pipe from the wheel cylinder.

7. Unscrew the bolts securing the brake shield to the trailing arm.

8. On all-wheel drive vehicles, remove the brake shield with the hub and bearing from the trailing arm using a 2-jaw puller.

9. Press the hub out of the inner race of the wheel bearing. When pressing out, do not deform the brake shield.

10. Remove the remaining inner race from the hub by installing the hub on the split plate.

11. Loosen the bolts securing the bearing assembly to the brake shield and remove the assembly.

Installation

12. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Replace the bearing assembly ring. Lubricate the thrust surface of the hub nut and tighten it to 181 Nm. Bleed the brake hydraulic system and adjust the parking brake cable (Chapter 9). Check and adjust rear wheel alignment if necessary.
