CR-V Cars
1. Raise the vehicle.
2. Remove the rear wheels.
3. Remove the stand (see below).
4. Place the stand in a vice and compress the spring with a compressor.
5. Unscrew the self-locking nut.
6. Remove the washer, rubber bushings and spring gasket.
7. Remove the spring.
8. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
4-cylinder Odyssey
Removal
1. Raise the vehicle.
3. Place a jack under the spring rest and lift the lower arm.
4. Unscrew the bolts securing the shock absorber and knuckle on the lower arm.
5. Compress and remove the shock absorber (see below).
6. Lower the lower arm, releasing the spring.
7. Remove the spring assembly and support cups.
Installation
8. Check the upper and lower support cups for damage. Replace damaged cups.
9. Install the support cups.
10. Install the spring. Align the edge of the spring with the recess in the spring cup.
11. Raise the lever and compress the spring.
12. Screw in the shock absorber and steering knuckle mounting bolts.
13. Place the jack under the steering knuckle. Raise your fist so that it supports the weight of the car. Tighten the two mounting bolts to 103 Nm. Tighten the shock absorber mounting nut to 38 Nm.
14. Lower the vehicle. Check and adjust the rear wheel alignment.
Odyssey V6
Removal
1. Raise the vehicle.
2. Remove the wheel.
3. Place a jack under the lower arm and lift the arm.
4. Loosen the speed sensor bracket mounting bolts and disconnect the wiring from the lower arm. Do not disconnect the wiring from the sensor.
5. Unscrew the bolt securing the lower arm to the knuckle.
6. Remove the spring by gradually lowering the jack.
Installation
7. Install the spring. Align the edge of the spring with the recess on the spring cup.
8. Jack up the lower arm, align the holes and tighten the bolts.
9. Attach the speed sensor bracket and wiring.
10. Raise the lower arm with a jack so that the jack supports the weight of the car. Tighten the bolts to 74 Nm.
11. Lower the vehicle. Check and adjust rear wheel alignment.
